Workshop "Keys to successful international teamwork" Attendees' testimonials

"A workshop led by Frederique is not 'death by powerpoint'! Instead, you seem to discover your own intuitive knowledge as Frederique ably guides you through interactive training techniques that build on one another. The underlying theories are amply illustrated with logical and understandable examples while communication, teamwork and listening skills are developed through kinetic exercises that seem to be just fun while you're doing them -- but afterwards, she doesn't forget to review what you actually learned while playing around. Indeed, although we started out as a random selection of workshop participants, by the end I felt a strong bond of camaraderie to the others and had the sense that we would be able to complete a project together: in two days, Frederique had cemented a handful of strangers into a true team!"
Mary Beth Robinson MBR Limitless

"This highly interactive workshop provides lots of opportunities for each attendee to discuss, reflect and participate actively. It provides essential knowledge for intercultural communication and fosters positive attitudes towards differences. Thanks to this workshop, I am now more aware of the ‘Yes, but…’ that impedes cooperation and I have learnt other ways to communicate, finding a common base for moving forward. Now I feel more ready to deal with people who have a completely different viewpoint than mine – without getting into conflicts.
I will recommend this workshop to all my colleagues and friends who work in an international context, as it provides an excellent basis for successful cross-cultural communication and cooperation. Frederique provided just the right amount of information and helped us to discover our own personal strengths and weaknesses in listening and communication with others."
Katalin Tóth, Staff scientist, DKFZ ( German Cancer Research Center)

"This workshop was very interactive. It was a good mix of theory, exercises where we could put that theory into practice, and discussions to reflect on what we were learning. I especially liked the activity which allowed viewing something from several perspectives. The exercises not only helped to link the theory to day-to-day life, they made us move around and renewed our energy.
I really cannot overstate how much I enjoyed this class! The activities were very effective to develop my listening skills – and they were fun. I will recommend this workshop to everyone around me as it provides a good, sound foundation for any professional working at any level in an international environment.
Frédérique allows the conversation and discussion to flow, but she is always able to bring it back to the topic. She encourages the learning of each individual."
G. Sanderson, Conference Manager, IDC

"For me, the strongest points of the workshop were the ‘role of listening’ and the ‘awareness of several perspectives’.
The activities allowed us to better integrate the various contents of the class: for example, the “long activity” on day two was great to practice everything we had learnt during the workshop. The low number of attendees provides a lot of opportunities for discussion and input from each participant. I would recommend this workshop for the entire team I am working with as a team-building exercise.
Frédérique encourages participation and gives information in a very straightforward way that is easy to understand."

"What I liked very much about this workshop is that Mrs Thiriet-Smith is able to combine substantive training content with a lot of practical exercises. The element of improvisation made me laugh and have fun – in the same moment, I learned about intercultural aspects in an easy way. From the theoretical impulses and the exercises, I can derive several aspects which apply directly to my work, such as the ‘Johari window’ or the ‘cultural dimensions’: This will help me when dealing with international customers.
Mrs Thiriet-Smith inspires a safe and enjoyable learning climate. Thank to her, I am now curious to learn more about improvisational methods; I have already tried some of them in my work. I certainly want to learn more about the different cultural dimensions."   Anna Matzenauer/ LotusConsult
